Artist Anthony Antonellis recently got a ‘digital tattoo’ by embedding an RFID chip in his hand.
The chip—which works like a floppy disk—has a storage space of 1KB of data, and is capable of generating a GIF when scanned with a smartphone.
According to Animal New York, the chip is embedded in an incision site between Antonellis’s thumb and index finger, and is no bigger than a grain of sand.
The aim of this project is to introduce a new way to store and view digital artworks.
