Publisher Penguin has engaged the help of artist Petra Borner to give the books of the ‘Legends from the Ancient North’ series new designs.

The five books are said to have influenced author J.R.R. Tolkien, while he was working on ‘The Hobbit’ and ‘The Lord of the Rings’.

The Saga of the Volsungs’, ‘Sir Gawain and the Green Knight’, ‘The Wanderer: Elegies, Epics, Riddles’, ‘Beowulf’, and ‘The Elder Edda’ have been given color graphical art as their new look, with each cover featuring a hero or creature mentioned within the story of the book.

Penguin will be releasing the redesigned books in November later this year.
